This Thursday is a very important day for Hartlepool people. As well as council elections, the MP for Hartlepool will be chosen by the people of the town.
We hosted a special two hour programme - we invited all prospective parliamentary candidates to give them a chance to explain why you should vote for them.

Your local station are proud to continue our support to a very worth cause in town, Hartlepool and District Hospice.
We have been patrons of the charity since our launch in 2008 and we recently went on a guided tour of the facility and were shown a recently opened day care centre and met the team who do so much hard work.
Radio Hartlepool will be working with the hospice by helping to promote future events and initiatives, both on-air and across social media.

Your local station continues it's expansion plans for 2015 with the key appointment of a key figure in the business sector.
Rob Collier joins Radio Hartlepool as Director of Business Development. His main role will be to forge close links with local businesses and the radio station and help bring them to the forefront by assisting with recruitment and marketing, and letting the towns people know of what great services are in the area, and helping to regenrate the local economy.
Rob is a Director of Advanced Retail Solutions Ltd and takes a great interest in Hartlepool.

Calling all entrepreneurs

We were recently joined on The Breakfast Show by Peter Taylor, Area Manager of UK Steel Enterprise, which is a business support body that has helped around 1300 companies.
UK Steel Enterprise have launched the 40:40 Challenge. It's open to anyone under 18 years of age and who live in the areas of Tees Valley, Derwentside or West Cumbria. You can bid for a share of the £40,000 prize fund to either get a business idea off the ground or develop it further.
Bids can be between £500 and £10,000 and any idea will be considered, providing its helping to develop skills needed by the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
