Calling all entrepreneurs
We were recently joined on The Breakfast Show by Peter Taylor, Area Manager of UK Steel Enterprise, which is a business support body that has helped around 1300 companies.
UK Steel Enterprise have launched the 40:40 Challenge. It's open to anyone under 18 years of age and who live in the areas of Tees Valley, Derwentside or West Cumbria. You can bid for a share of the £40,000 prize fund to either get a business idea off the ground or develop it further.
Bids can be between £500 and £10,000 and any idea will be considered, providing its helping to develop skills needed by the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
How can we help YOU?
Are you part of a community organisation or charity that would like promoting with Radio Hartlepool?
We offer different options to help you achieve publicity.
If you are promoting an event and are publishing posters/flyer's either in hard copy or on social media, we ask that a copy of the Radio Hartlepool logo could be included on the promotional material.
In exchange we would make a 30 second promotional on-air spot, tailored to your needs. This would be played in the weeks leading up to your event or launch.
We also mention community events (non-profit making) in our weekday What's Happening guide.
This is a completely free service and your event would be mentioned around 7.20am then hourly until 5.20pm in the week leading up to your event (subject to demand).
We would need details of your event AT LEAST SEVEN DAYS BEFORE IT IS DUE TO TAKE PLACE.
Do you like your music a bit loud and heavy?

Shannon Bone is the first student to be given this slot. Shannon is in the first year of her degree and hopes to go onto a career in radio journalism.
The News Update can be heard every weekday after the main news at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 2pm and 6pm.
